Boutique Trend Continues in Coral Gables

After facing much opposition, the developer of a new boutique townhome project in Coral Gables is finally ready to break ground. According to a recent article from The Real Deal, developer Pedro Viana is prepared to start constructing the four-unit development on Almeria Avenue, New Town, this summer, with a completion date expected by the end of 2018.

Architect Reinaldo Borges, of Borges + Associates Architects, is responsible for the modern design, which was the center of the feud with a neighbor. Complaints about the aesthetics finally caused Borges to make some changes. After incorporating the city’s Mediterranean design standards, the plans were approved by the Coral Gables Board of Architects and Special Master.

Plans for the New Town Townhouses show a three-story building with rooftop gardens, plunge pools, elevators and a four-car garage. All units will include 6,500 square feet of living space outfitted with high-end finishes, European kitchen appliances, and smart home features.

The boutique trend is continuing to prosper in the Miami area, with several other similar projects nearby. Beatrice Row, also located in Coral Gables, will be a nine-unit luxury townhouse development that is planned for 2409 Anderson Row. Also, the Biltmore Parc on Valencia Avenue will include 32 condos.
