Luxury South Florida Mansion Hits Market….Again

Luxury South Florida Mansion Hits Market….Again

In September 2014, a South Florida mansion briefly held the title for the most expensive real estate listing in the nation. Le Palais Royal, modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France, is located in Hillsboro Beach, Florida and was listed for a whopping $139 million at that time. It was taken off the market about a year later until it was closer to completion. The 60,500-square-foot estate was just recently put back on the market, featuring even more luxurious amenities and an even larger price tag. In addition to all of it’s original grandeur, the home now boasts two guesthouses, a subterranean entertainment complex, and more land, all for the new asking price of $159 million.

According to a recent article from the Wall Street Journal, the owner, Robert Pereira, founder of Middlesex Corp.,  decided to include an adjacent 1½-acre lot to make room for more entertaining space. This added lot will include the two guesthouses, about 3,000 square feet each, a pool to share between them, and the underground entertainment complex that will house an ice-skating rink, a nightclub, a go-kart track, and a bowling alley. Construction on this second phase is expected to be completed in about two years. The entire estate, which is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, now covers about 4½ acres total.

Joseph Leone, the project manager, claims to have spent about seven years designing and building the estate with a goal of  “creating something completely different than what’s been done in America.” In addition to over $3 million worth of gold leaf, the mansion also includes six waterfalls (one of which is 25 feet tall), a $2 million marble staircase, 11 bedrooms, a master suite with a heated plunge pool on the balcony, an 18-seat IMAX home theater, a 30-car subterranean garage, a 1,300-gallon built-in aquarium, and a wine cellar to house up to 3,000 bottles. Outdoors, the estate features a 4,500-square-foot infinity pool with a swim-up bar and water slide. In addition, a glass-bottomed hot tub is suspended overhead. The grounds also include a putting green, an outdoor kitchen, and two boat docks on the Intracoastal side. For those looking for a one-of-a-kind luxury estate, it doesn’t get much more luxurious than this.
