On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, a unique Coconut Grove estate will come to auction. The 9,947-square-foot Venetian-style mansion features 30-foot vaulted ceilings, Jerusalem stone floors and stained glass windows with $1 million worth of stonework surrounding them. According to a recent article from The Real Deal, after being listed for $7.9 million, bidding will open at $5.6 million.
The home, which has been said to replicate a house on the grand canal in Venice, includes a keystone swimming pool, large stone fireplace, gourmet chef’s kitchen with Sub-Zero, Miele and La Cornue appliances, a library tower, an art studio and a rooftop deck. Public records show that the owners, Richard and Cristina Daniels, built the custom, three-story home in 2009 after paying $750,000 for the plot in 2000. The six-bedroom mansion is located at 1840 South Bayshore Lane.
Many luxury South Florida estates have come to auction in recent months, including the oceanfront estate located at 2150 South Highway A1A in Vero Beach earlier this month. The home at 215 East Dilido Drive in Miami Beach, owned by designer and developer John Turchin, was auctioned last Friday, and a 1930s-era home on Miami Beach’s infamous Pine Tree Drive is set to go to auction on Monday.
Interested bidders are required to register two days before the auction, which will held on-site.
