A new oceanfront condo tower has been announced in Pompano Beach, and residents will enjoy a very rare feature anymore: construction directly on the sand. The 72-unit Sabbia Beach will be located at 730 N. Ocean Blvd where developer partner Fernbrook Florida purchased the lot last May for $10.5 million. According to a recent article from South Florida Business Journal, the architect on the project is Miami-based Architectonica with Interiors by Steven G. handling the interior design. “Future residents of Sabbia Beach will have the Atlantic Ocean as their backyard,” said Danny Salvatore, a partner in Fernbrook Florida. There are very few locations like this available anymore.
Units are expected to range from two to four bedrooms and will start in the $900,000s. Two penthouse suites and four lanai residences will also be available. All units will feature floor-to-ceiling sliding-glass doors and large outdoor living spaces. Building amenities will include a fitness center, massage and treatment rooms, a yoga area, a tasting room, and 24-hour security and valet. 25% of the condos have already been reserved, according to Salvatore.
Fernbrook Homes in Canada and Federico Fernandez, head of Venezuelan developer Grupo Fernandez, make up this international development team. While this is Fernbrook’s first project in Florida, the builder is experienced, having developed more than 4 million square feet of condos and more than 35,000 single-family homes over almost 4 decades. The project is slated to break ground this fall with completion projected to be sometime in 2017. As oceanfront property becomes more and more rare in South Florida, buyers are moving north from Miami, according to Amy Ballon of Hemisphere Sales Group, the broker for the project.
